Happy Summer one and all! We have arrived home safe and sound after a whirlwind week of travel, work and play. I have found that photo-journaling is very therapeutic for me. I love to put together a little something with images that help me remember some of our great adventures (modern scrapbooking I suppose) and so I intend to carry on doing just that amidst the posts of other wonderful people that I photograph.  Things have been pretty nutty butter lately so a soothing drive through the mountains up to Osoyoos was just what the doctor ordered. We stopped at some sweet orchards along the way, and stumbled on a ranch where the ranch-lady (queen of the ranch?) warmly welcomed us in and encouraged us to hug the horses- yes please! Our destination was the beautiful Spirit Ridge Vineyard where we photographed A + J's wedding.  It was a special day filled with lots of love and toasty 40 degree heat. 24 hours following our arrival, after the cake was cut and the flash mob (yes flash mob) had settled, we packed up the car and drove through the night to catch a plane to Los Angeles and SIGGRAPH where Colin led a discussion on educating the next generation of amazing animation artists. I'm so proud of him and could definitely get used to tagging along on business trips. We didn't get to explore too much of the city itself - but for the final day of our stay we had our sights set on Disney's California Adventure. If you haven't been to this park since it's complete makeover (or at all for that matter) it is a must see! Our absolute favourite part was Cars Land. Both of us rank 'Cars' as one of our top Pixar movies, and every detail was spot on in recreating 'Radiator Springs'. Well done Imagineers! Something that we really love to do is stay at the park until it closes and enjoy the peace and quiet. We found a bench along Paradise Pier, watched the lights on the ferris wheel change colour, and talked about our trip, the work we had done, and all of the ridiculously tasty food we ate.  Until next time, Disney.
