O'ahu- known as 'the Gathering Place'. What brought us to magical island? Two people, crazy in love, getting married. Sheryl and I have known each other since elementary school and she is simply one of the sweetest most talented people you will ever meet (for real...this girl can do anything). She and her now-husband, Eric, are the kind of people that, upon meeting, you think 'okay, we need to be friends'. Together, they are known as 'Sheric' and they are something special. We feel so blessed to have been asked to photograph their rustic beach wedding in O’ahu and to be a part of such and amazing group of people, sharing their joy. Beautiful, colourful, magical, peaceful O’ahu. It’s hard to believe that we were in

Iceland

a few months ago. I can’t imagine two places more different. When we found out our happy news... OH! In case you missed it - Colin and I are expecting a little baby bean! To everyone that has sent us little notes and kinds words - from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Even the smallest gestures have overwhelmed us with gratitude. We have never felt so loved and supported in all our lives. They say it takes a village to raise a child, and I feel like we have the most wonderful village in the whole world surrounding us. Thank you! As I was saying... when we found out our happy news, we decided that this Hawaiian holiday would also be a great opportunity to celebrate and relax. We are really enjoying this ‘season’ of life and want to soak it up. We fell in love with Hawaii. With it’s soul. The sights, sounds and smells just fill you up. It’s sweet and warm and wonderful. We rented a car (best idea ever) and took things at our own pace. We found a great radio station that played ‘all traditional hawaiian music, all the time’ and we were off along the coast to the North Shore, where we were staying. I’ll let the photos tell the rest of the story but in summary, we stopped at one of their famous Shrimp food trucks, enjoyed the best pineapple EVER that we bought from a roadside stand, soaked in some of the most beautiful blue water I’ve ever laid eyes on, found a giant banyan tree that can also be seen in Pirates of the Caribbean 4 and Lost (Locke’s camp!), swam in a waterfall, watched tropical fish swim around our feet at twilight and basked in all of the quiet moments that seem harder to embrace at home. A tropical breeze and the sound of the sea will do that to you. I also ate a pineapple a day. This girl LOVES pineapple. But not as much as I love Colin. Having this time with my very favourite person, and making all of these new memories together knowing that these are our last as a family of two and 'a Bruce' was just...the best. We will be back, Hawaii.
