The are no words to describe the beauty of Iceland... this is one best discussed through pictures. Colin and I spent 10 days in this incredible country. The breathtaking landscapes, the delicious food, the wonderful people, the rich history - it was everything. We spent a few days in the 'big city', Reykjavík (we gave up on pronouncing things properly fairly early on) then rented a car and drove along the Southcoast to a sweet little farm where we stayed for a few nights. We held lambs, went for long walks, and enjoyed the peace and quiet. I think the the road trip was our favourite experience of the whole trip. Doing things on our own time, stopping when we saw something that we liked, and just taking in the out-of-this-world views... we drove for hours without seeing a soul. Sometimes it was as though the Earth was saying 'look what I can do' - we live on an amazing planet. When we told friends and family that we were going to Iceland the question of 'why' always came up. I suppose it is a unique choice for a holiday. Iceland is a mystery but that's what we wanted - to do and see something new. Something exciting. It was a once in a life time adventure with my best friend and I hope that you'll consider visiting one day. And of course, a few snaps from my iphone from our last few days spent back in the city before heading home. Thank you for the memories Iceland.
